Supporting Communities Through Change, Loss and Grief.
Growing Through Grief is part of Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW) the social services arm of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu, serving communities across the Bay of Plenty, Te Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua.
Grounded in our Waiapu, Anglican and Te Hāhi Mihinare identity and our commitment to honouring Te Tiriti, our mission is to uplift and empower individuals and whānau through compassionate, inclusive, and culturally responsive care.
We offer a range of programmes designed to support people experiencing change, loss, and grief. Delivered in safe and supportive group settings, these programmes provide opportunities to share experiences, learn practical ways to navigate grief, and connect with others who understand what you may be going through. Each programme is tailored to the needs of different age groups and communities, helping participants build understanding, resilience, and wellbeing.
Mā te whakarongo, ka mōhio, mā te mōhio, ka mārama, mā te mārama, ka matau, mā te matau, ka ora.
Through listening, comes knowledge, through knowledge, comes understanding, through understanding, comes wisdom, through wisdom, comes wellbeing.
